TN Team Pride receives Buddy Overcast award

Tennessee Team Pride Basketball Club based out of Hooptown in Smyrna, Tn recently was awarded the Buddy Overcast award for the top AAU basketball Club in the state of Tennessee in 2009 .

TN Team Pride awarded Points Championship

Tennessee Team Pride Basketball Club based out of Hooptown in Smyrna, Tn recently was awarded the Points Championship for the top AAU basketball Club in the nation for the third time in four years.

Tennessee Team Pride accrued 81 points at the girls Division 1 AAU nationals in 2009 ages 8u-19u/Open to win the “Clinton Cup Points Championship”.

2009 Team Pride top 16 finishes include 9u 4th(15pts), 10u 1st (20 pts), 12u 7th (12 pts), 15u 2nd ( 17 pts) and 13u 2nd (17 pts).

Rounding out the 2009 top 10 nationally were 2. Georgia Pistols – 68 pts, 3. Dayton Hoopstars – 63 pts, 4. Team Arkansas Elite – 47 pts, 5. Missouri Valley Magic 46 pts 6. Arkansas Mavericks – 40 pts, 7. Indiana ISSA Elite 37 pts 8. Fairfax Stars – 33 pts, 8. Indiana Blizzard – 33 pts, 9. Indiana Finest FBC 31 pts , 10. Kenner, La Angels 27 pts pts.

This season’s finish marks Team Pride’s 6th consecutive year to be in the top 10 nationally.
The point system is derived from the Olympic scoring point system. 1st – 20pts, 2nd -17 pts, 3rd -16 pts, 4th – 15 pts, 5th or 6th -14 pts, 7th or 8th -12 points, 9th thru 12th – 9pts and 13th thru 16th – 4 pts.

Former Team Pride player, Victoria Dunlap (Brentwood Acad) was named to preseason All-Southeastern Conference second-team as selected by league coaches and announced by the conference office.
