Alysha Clark headlines the All-Conference Team

Macon, Ga. – The Atlantic Sun Conference today announced its Women’s Basketball All-Conference Team, selected by the league’s 11 head coaches. Belmont freshman Alysha Clark headlines the All-Conference Team, after earning honors in four categories.

The five-time A-Sun Player of the Week was voted both Player and Freshman of the Year. After leading the Bruins to their second regular season title, Clark is the first rookie in A-Sun women’s basketball history to win both awards in the same season.

Hooptown’s Tennessee Team Pride Basketball Club is crowned the top AAU program in the nation for the 2nd year in a row

Hooptown’s Tennessee Team Pride Basketball Club is crowned the top AAU program in the nation for the 2nd year in a row.

Tennessee Team Pride accrued 71 points at the girls Division 1 AAU nationals in 2007 ages 9u-19u/SR to win the “Clinton Cup Points Championship”.

2007 Team Pride top 16 finishes include 9u 4th(15pts), 10u 5th (14 pts), 11u 3rd (16 pts), 15u 9th ( 9 pts) and 16u/JE 2nd (17 pts).

Rounding out the 2007 top 10 nationally were 2. Dayton Hoopstars – 68 pts, 3. Memphis Elite – 57 pts, 4. Arkansas Mavericks – 56 pts, 5. Indiana’s Finest – 52 pts, 6. Alabama Twisters – 40 pts, 7. Fairfax Stars – 32 pts, 8. Maryland Flames – 31 pts, 9. Mo Valley Eclipse – 29 pts , 9. Virginia Neptunes – 29 pts.

This season’s finish marks Team Pride’s 4th consecutive year to be in the top 10 nationally(2004 – 9th, 2005 10th and 2006 1st).

The point system is derived from the Olympic swimming point system. 1st – 20pts, 2nd -17 pts, 3rd -16 pts, 4th – 15 pts, 5th or 6th -14 pts, 7th or 8th -12 points, 9th thru 12th – 9pts and 13th thru 16th – 4 pts.
